The issues surrounding development isare not exclusive to developing countries.  Developed countries have also been facing challenges including economic development, societal development and rejuvenations of local communities. Governments have been the primal prime executers for development efforts and projects until recently.  However, business enterprises and NGOs are increasing their involvements in development projects and their recognition in this endeavor is growing.   Today, there is little use in dividing their domains.  Their boundaries of work are fading in development efforts as they work more closely and they move into each other’s formerly divided territory under mandates.
The Development Course members shall start discussions by presenting and sharing examples of developments showing cooperation among governments, businesses and NGOs in twenty-one respective countries.  The group, then, will seek how governments, businesses and NGOs can further harmonize their activities in development efforts.  Based on the common ground that the participants shall have, and with their Alumni Association or other organizations, involved, they are expected to propose projects towards global harmony utilizing ties and networks with other organizations.  Further, it is an aim to discuss about concrete measures for implementation of the said projects. as well as discuss about the measures for implementation of those projects.

Education Course

Education takes place in schools, families and societies. In the 21st Century Renaissance Youth Leaders Invitation Program 2004, the education course will focus on education carried out in societies. Within the varied educational activities that are taking place in societies, we will focus on education activities that aim to cultivate the spirit of global understanding and cooperation especially towards youth in the range of late teens to early twenties.
In our globalizing community, it is important for the youth to be able to adapt and take part in an environment with people of different ethnic backgrounds. In seeking for activities that will cultivate the spirit of understanding and relating beyond our own borders, we will start by sharing youth education activities that are taking place in societies of each country. Then, we will gather thoughts on the main essence that the activities should contain. Later during the session, the activities will be planned on condition that the participants should take initiative in the implementation process. Once activities are implemented in various countries, we hope to continuously share the experiences and furthermore, establish measures in which the activity know-how and human resources may interact among countries allowing the realization of further global harmonization.
